The Position: General Production Worker And Field Service Support Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Overview:

Assist Production Personnel – a mix of direct and indirect labor – to assure highest material quality and delivery goals are met, while improving efficiency.  Assist Senior Field Service Technician, with expectation of growing into more direct customer support role.

Reports to: Facility Manager / Senior Planner, with primary day-to-day assistance to Sr. Machinist, or Field Service Technician when required.

This position includes, but is not limited to, the performance of a variety of duties:

• Assists in building assemblies and sub-assemblies – complex items such as cherry pitters, blueberry destemmers, blueberry rods, cherry & blueberry eliminator belts, etc
• Performs Fabrication of Components, including operation of lathes, drills, press brake, mills, saw, shear, and some CNC machine operation, ensuring products are manufactured on time and to print.
• When qualified, will assist as a field service technician, auditing and repairing machines at customer’ sites. It is expected that this role will expand with experience.
• Performs limited incoming inspections. Uses weight counters, tape measures, and visual judgment.
• Performs various duties in shipping and receiving and storing of both incoming materials and parts completed in manufacturing.
• Advises Facility Manager / Sr. Planner of production issues shortages and damages.
• Keeps production records when required on job assignments.
• Requisitions and manages production tooling as required
• Drives Lift Truck (Will be site-certified).
• Performs other duties as assigned and these may include cleaning of parts and machines, cleaning of the plant and own work area, spray painting, and jobs of a similar kind.
• Packs and packages items to be shipped from stock, working from shipping papers, and ensures all logging paperwork is completed.
• Completes other tasks as assigned including general shop and machine cleanup, spray painting, inside and outside building and grounds maintenance, loading and unloading trucks, delivers and picks up local materials, other tasks of a similar nature.
• Maintains inventory records, and assists with cycle counts, physical inventory.
• May operate outdoor equipment such as power trimmers and snow throwers.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work at Customer sites, under differing conditions, safely and effectively, providing premier customer service to Dunkley stakeholders.
• Requires facility in reading, writing, fundamental arithmetic, and use of tape measures, weighing scales, and other measurement tools.

• Strong Ability to identify and assess team member needs and adjust priorities quickly
• Analytical, problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate well with executives, partners, sales teams, and customers.
• Ability to interpret Engineering CAD drawings.
• Job will require some lifting, proximity to chemicals of varying toxicity, handling of potentially sharp objects.  May require prolonged standing and moderate exertion (pressing/pulling/squeezing/turning). Job will require a fair degree of walking the plant every day. Eye-protection will be required for some processes and in some areas. Could be exposed to limited levels of paint/glue fumes. (Protective gear is available).
